1. Information we collect

Information you provide

We collect information you choose to submit through guest applications, guest recommendations, and contact forms. Depending on the form, this may include:

• Your name, email address, and optional phone number.
• Your company, organization, website, and social profiles.
• Professional background, Scottsdale or Valley connection, story ideas, and proposed conversation topics.
• Information about a person you recommend and why you believe we should speak with them.
• The subject, category, and content of a general inquiry.

Please do not submit passwords, financial account details, government identifiers, medical records, or other highly sensitive information.

Technical and usage information

When you visit the site, our hosting and security providers may automatically receive standard technical information such as your IP address, browser and device type, requested pages, referral source, and access times.

We use Vercel Web Analytics to understand site traffic in aggregate. Analytics data points may include the event timestamp, page URL and dynamic route, filtered query parameters, referrer, country or other coarse geographic area, operating system and browser version, device type, and analytics-script version. Vercel states that its Web Analytics product does not associate these anonymous data points with an individual or IP address and does not reconstruct browsing sessions across different websites.

Embedded and linked services

The podcast player is provided by Transistor. Embedded players and websites you visit through outbound links—including Transistor, Educate to Space, and Build Systems—may collect information under their own privacy policies. We do not control those third-party practices.

2. How we use information

We use information for legitimate podcast and site operations, including to:

• Review guest applications and decide whether a conversation may be a fit.
• Evaluate guest recommendations and make appropriate introductions.
• Respond to podcast, partnership, Educate to Space, and Build Systems inquiries.
• Plan, produce, and administer podcast conversations when separately agreed.
• Operate, protect, troubleshoot, and improve the website and its forms.
• Understand which content and referral links are useful.
• Comply with legal obligations and protect the rights, safety, and integrity of the site and its users.

Submitting a guest application does not guarantee an interview or create a business, employment, advisory, or other professional relationship.

3. How information may be shared

We do not sell or rent personal information. We may share information only as reasonably necessary:

• With service providers—including Vercel—that host, secure, analyze, maintain, or support the website and submission system.
• With people helping evaluate, schedule, produce, or follow up on a podcast or business inquiry.
• When you ask us to make an introduction or otherwise authorize sharing.
• To comply with law, legal process, or a valid government request.
• To prevent fraud, abuse, security threats, or harm.
• As part of a reorganization, sale, or transfer of the podcast or related operations, subject to appropriate protections.

4. Cookies and analytics

The site does not use advertising cookies. Vercel Web Analytics provides aggregated traffic statistics without using third-party cookies; it uses a request-derived hash for short-term visitor identification, and Vercel states that the session information is discarded after 24 hours. Other hosting, security, or embedded-media providers may use cookies or similar technologies required to provide their services, prevent abuse, or remember preferences. When enabled, Cloudflare Turnstile processes limited technical information to distinguish legitimate visitors from automated abuse. Browser privacy settings or content blockers may prevent analytics or embedded content from loading and may affect form submission.

5. Retention

We keep submissions for as long as reasonably needed to review and respond, maintain appropriate business records, resolve disputes, protect the site, and satisfy legal obligations. Retention may vary by the nature of the inquiry. Information may remain for a limited period in backups or security logs after deletion from active systems.

6. Security

We use reasonable administrative and technical measures intended to protect submitted information, including input validation, bot traps, rate limiting, request-origin checks, and optional automated-abuse verification. Form submissions are delivered to a private Discord channel used to review and respond to messages. No website, network, or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure, so please use care when deciding what to send online.

7. Your choices

You may ask to access, correct, or delete information you submitted by using the contact form. We may need to verify your identity and may retain information when required by law or needed for legitimate security, recordkeeping, or dispute-resolution purposes.

You can also decline to provide optional information, stop using the site, adjust browser privacy or content-blocking controls, or visit the podcast directly through a platform of your choice. Blocking the analytics script will prevent analytics data from being sent by that script but may not prevent standard hosting or security logs.

8. Children’s privacy

This podcast website is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 through this site. If you believe a child has submitted information, please contact us so we can review and remove it where appropriate.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the site, podcast, or legal requirements change. The revised policy will be posted here with a new effective date. Material changes will apply prospectively unless otherwise required by law.
